In our life at some point we all suffer from stomach aches which are generally called as “abdominal pain.” These are a bit difficult to handle. Stomach aches can happen because of many reasons like indigestion, food poisoning, infection and bowel syndrome to gastritis and GERD. Ginger has been used since ancient times, as an effective cure for all types’ stomach disorders from to nausea stomach pains and infections.

Rice water is a very simple remedy for stomach aches. Cook your rice with some additional water . You can use plain old long-grain white rice or any other rice for this purpose. Cook your rice in a pot over medium-low heat. As the rice starts to become tender, remove it from the heat and let it soak for 3 minutes with the lid on the pan. Drain and drink the water warm, adding a smidge of honey if needed. Save the rice for a bland meal later. Rice water acts a demulcent, meaning a substance that relieves inflammation by forming a sort of soothing barrier over a membrane, in this case, the lining of your stomach.

Warm Lemon Water

Use of lemon water, is a age old remedy for any type of indigestion problems. Acidic in nature, it helps in stimulating the production of hydrochloric acid, which breaks down our food. You can add some rock-salt to further replenish the dehydrated body with essential salt and water. it also flushes toxins from the body making the body light and fresh.


Peppermint contain menthol which is a natural analgesic and is helpful in fixing up nausea and upset stomach.

You can simply chew its fresh leaves, sniff peppermint extract or suck on a minty candy. Try brewing a cup of peppermint or spearmint tea, this will keep stomach pangs at bay and alleviate feelings of nausea.

Use Club Soda and Lime

Combination of the lime and club soda can help you wash away the pain. It is easy to make and if you overate and have a stomach ache as a result, the carbonation in club soda will encourage you to burp, therefore relieving pressure in your belly.

All these remedies are effective in simple stomachache problem but sometime this could be because of some more serious problem. You should see a doctor immediately if you feel problem is increasing and symptoms persist for prolonged periods.
